Hundreds of thousands of people, who sell on eBay from their home, left their
day job and live happily only from their eBay business.
Many others do it only as a secondary source of income while maintaining their
main jobs.

I personally recommend not to leave your present job and start it as part time just for fun. If you then feel that you are making huge earnings then you may consider taking it as a full time job.
